Featuring micro-OLED displays with a total of 27 million pixels and an ultra-high resolution of 3,552 x 3,840 pixels, the headset delivers vibrant visuals with up to a 90Hz refresh rate. The expansive 109-degree horizontal and 100-degree vertical field of view create an engaging, immersive experience for users. The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chipset, coupled with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage, ensuring smooth performance for demanding spatial computing tasks.
Samsung has equipped the Galaxy XR with an advanced multi-camera setup, including six world-facing tracking cameras, four eye-tracking cameras, and two pass-through cameras for augmented reality interaction. The headset supports 3D photo and video capture with a 6.5MP resolution, and includes eye-tracking and iris recognition for enhanced security. Audio is handled by a two-way speaker system with woofer and tweeter components, complemented by a six-microphone beamforming array for clear voice input.
The headset touts a lightweight design, weighing 545 grams, with ergonomic features such as a forehead cushion and a pressure-distributing frame that separates the battery to improve comfort during extended use.
To enhance value, Samsung bundles the Galaxy XR with "The Explorer Pack," providing over $1,000 worth of premium subscriptions including YouTube Premium, Google Play Pass, YouTube TV, and other AI and entertainment services for up to a year.
Available now through Samsung.com and select Samsung Experience stores in the US and South Korea, the Galaxy XR ushers in a new AI-focused era for wearable XR devices, built on the open and unified Android XR platform in collaboration with Google and Qualcomm.
